Straightening Warped or Bent Door
I have searched and found threads mentioning the method for correcting doors warped around the top from slamming open. The door on my rig is requiring this, it’s clearly not closing up top and I can nearly squeeze my finger through the gap.

I have attempted placing a 2/4 at the latch and pressing the door back to correct this warping a few times. I’m having partial success but it seems it’s gonna take some serious deflection to correct the bend and I don’t want to damage the door. Any advice from someone that’s had to really work hard to correct the door warp?

This is a quote from an old message:

To straighten the door, you take a short length of two by four and place it between the door and door frame at the level of the catch (about the bottom of the window). The bend in the top of door will now be outward. Have someone hold the wood piece while you gently, and in stages, bend the top of the door toward the frame by pushing on it. You will be able to tell when it is straight.

Also, someone mentioned in this old thread that the Mothership now uses a "jig" to help straighten doors. I don't know what that is or how it works.

Ken, you outdid yourself. Thanks for this article.

Don, thanks for following up and posting it in The Companion, which continues to be a very valuable resource for Lazy Dazers.

Possible error - are there any floor plans on which the latch is on the right and the hinges on the left as you look at the door from outside?  If so, I need to address this in the article.

AFAIK, all LDs have the entry door hinges on the right side. Can't think of any exceptions among older models.
