Re: The call you never want Reply #25 – August 09, 2018, 09:18:24 pm I was reminded of some text messages I had with a plumber friend regarding water pressure so I dug them up. His recommendation (we live in So Calif) is to have the pressure set to 65 psi. Ours was at 80 at the time and I adjusted it at the regulator. Bill 1 Likes
Re: The call you never want Reply #26 – August 10, 2018, 12:05:34 am Too high of water pressure is one worry we don't have as our pressure typically runs 30-35 psi as it's gravity fed from two large tanks above our elevation.
Re: The call you never want Reply #27 – August 28, 2018, 08:41:34 pm A little update. This is a slow process. Having a hard time finding a contractor as most are booked out for weeks this time of year. But demolition is done and everything is dry now. 7 Likes
Re: The call you never want Reply #28 – August 30, 2018, 12:02:00 am I used to work for a company that did fire and water damage clean-up/restorations. The water line to the refrigerator was a major problem for leaks. Now that I have a pet sitting business, we have encountered burst RO system tanks, dead refrigerators (and the ice maker still wants to work!) and the tell-tale "hisssss" of a water hose ready to blow. We've probably saved our clients $$$$ by our being there to care for their pets. We have quite a few clients that turn off the water to their homes, and just leave the irrigation portion on.That being said, I had come home about 4 years ago to grab a client key and could hear water running. One of the outside hose bibbs burst and the water was spraying into a basement window well. (Needless to say, that hose bibb was moved!) I was able to save all my just reupholstered furniture, but in the aftermath, my deductible went from $1,000 to about $3,500. OUCH! So, yes, check your insurance policies! 2 Likes
Re: The call you never want Reply #29 – September 08, 2018, 07:33:16 pm Oh boy we are making some headway now. We have walls again yippee. Only taken a month to get this far. But all plumbing and electrical were redone while the walls were open. 1 Likes
