Interior vent covers
My 1994 midbath had the factory vinyl snap on covers for the ceiling vents. Stupid me I gave them to the new owner when I sold the rig. I now have a 2004 midbath. Yesterday I called the factory to order covers and found out they only have them for the Fantastic fan!  I’ve searched online and can only find covers for the 14” vents, not the large one in the cab over. Looking for solutions. Planning to go to Zion in February.

We like having easy access to the escape hatch for star viewing, fresh air and, in case of an emergency, be able to quickly exit out through the hatch.
Instead of using an insulated cover, the hatch itself has been insulated to reduce heat and cold transfer.
The inside of the escape hatch has two layers of closed-cell, backpackers foam, glued in with contact cement .

To reduce condensation on the aluminum escape hatch's frame, the metal has a layer of insulated foam tape applied to it. The tape is the type used to wrap A/C cooling tubing in commercial applications .

You could also have an upholstery shop make a cover with snaps or sew it yourself, if you have a machine capable of sewing naugahyde.

Weather averages show 25 at night in Zion. Done plenty of trips at or slightly below freezing - I think I used the vent covers once. The overall insulation is quite good.  I might cut out a couple pieces of reflectix to size but other than that not sweat it.

We have tried a few ways to cover them, and the current method is to cut a piece of two inch foam (leftover from making a mattress in the van), to the size of the vent, covering with a nice bit of fabric, and voila, vent cover/pillow/seat cushion.  Besides warmth of cool insulation, we like the sound and light attenuation.

I have camped in the 1992 in the snow many times for skiing and snow mobiling but had the covers. Im afraid it will be pretty drafty without something over or in the vents.  I think I’ll look into having them made.
