"Guild" was a confuser!  ;)

Websites for each national park (and national monument) usually contain a great deal of current information on the particular facility; in my experience, reading through the information on these sites are the first step in planning a visit.

The URLs for national parks and monuments follow a consistent protocol; this makes it easy to just plug the URL for any national park or monument into the browser bar without having to do a search for a specific park.

All start with "www.nps.gov/" After the slash, use the first four letters of the park name if the name is a single word, e.g., Yellowstone, and the first two letters of each of the park names if the park name consists of two words, e.g., Great Basin. In other words, NPS.gov Homepage (U.S. National Park Service)yell and NPS.gov Homepage (U.S. National Park Service)grba Be sure to have the official name of the park or monument; for example, Lassen National Park is actually named Lassen Volcanic National Park, so its URL is NPS.gov Homepage (U.S. National Park Service)lavo

Hmmm. Guess I should have spelled out the URLs to avoid the automatic link conversion! However, I'm sure that the concept is clear!  ;)
