WeBoost 4 GX RV using existing TV coaxial August 26, 2018, 07:05:24 pm We decided to test our WeBoost 4 GX RV system while at home. We found that we were getting unsatisfactory performance while on the road. There was no signal boost in tests using the coaxial connector for the TV. We then tested a direct connection to the antenna and got a 2x boost. Next, we tested connecting directly to the coaxial from roof and we got a 2x boost. Then we took apart the interior wall plate for the coaxial connection to the TV and realized that the cable from the antenna was attached to a TV antenna amplifier board. Oopsie. We moved the cable to an unused, unamplified adjacent connector and the booster worked again. My guess is that most folks won’t make this mistake. We thought we’d share our experience just in case.As a side note… unfortunately, the switch that turns on our rear 12v power receptacle, which has been flaky in the past, stopped working altogether after we reassembled everything. Jiggling a splice near the back of the switch produced the intermittent condition. We removed and replaced the crimp splice and all is good.Sue 1 Likes
