I'm 6' 4", will I be comfortable in driver's seat, 24 ft. model?

Hello all.

Love the website, you people are great.

1. How are driver's seat comfort and legroom in your 24 ft. LD? I'm six feet four inches tall, and wear either 32L or 34L pants depending on brand.

2. Are legroom and seat positioning essentially the same for both 24 ft. floorplans?

3. Any easy modification to allow driver's seat to move back further?

Am 74 years old, and keep waiting to shrink a little like some of my friends in same age group. No luck!

I believe both the 24' Front Lounge and Twin/King have the same seat travel.The T/K utilizes the unique spring loaded hole in the bathroom wall to permit the seat moving rearward.
I have a 32" inseam and there is adequate room in our 23.5' FL but only you can make the final decision if it's enough for you.

What State are you in? There are Lazydaze Get Togethers around the country throughout the year. If one is nearby, consider stopping in. You may find one to check the fit.

I started out in our ‘06 TK at just over 6’ and a 33” inseam. I find there is plenty of legroom and seat comfort, with the back reclined slightly into the little flap that is part of the bathroom wall. But! I like to sit fairly erect and without a lot of recline to the back. If you prefer a more reclined position with arms straighter out, a TK probably isn’t for you. The above advice is the best — find one at a gathering and try it on for size. — Jon

Appreciate all the responses re: legroom in 24 ft. LD. Thanks guys. I'm in Oceanside, CA, and not that far away from factory. Think I'll set up a visit there. Hopefully they'll have some floor models that I can sit in.

Joel, like the idea of going to a LD get-together in CA if factory doesn't have 24ft floor models. Golden opportunity--maybe I could convince an unsuspecting owner to let me sit behind the wheel of almost new TK, in my favorite color of course. Am studying how to hotwire. If all goes well, I could quickly do the hotwire and then put the pedal to the metal and I'm out of there before you know it. Next thing you know, I have my new LD.

I don't think a 6'4" 74 year-old male in Lazy Daze would stick out all the much, right?

May I suggest if you plan to 'borrow' your next LD TK please make sure the water and sewer hoses are disconeted. Having the black sewer hose following you down the road would not help you stealthiness.

If one is geeky like me - add a search alert on Craigslist.

- create an account on craigslist
- search for lazy daze - options "title only" checked.
- sort by newest
- save search
- go to saved searches and check the email alert.

Do this for OC and SD searches and you'll get enough hits. Can add IE for fun. They come up frequently enough that a trip to Ventura may not be necessary though that's a fun town.

When I was selling I would have been very happy to let someone try on for size. Any seasoned salesperson knows that's an easy in to the next level.

Jon's suggestion of dropping by the CC outing in Ventura (or any of the CC outings, or any regional LD group get-together, or the LDO gathering at Morro Bay SP in early March) to check out LDs is a good one, simply because one won't find the variety of years, models, colors, and "customization" of LDs anywhere else.

Many (not all, but quite a few!

) owners at the various LD gatherings are willing to "show" their rigs and answer questions, and I believe that most are very candid in their views of the pro and con features of their particular year and model.

A one-dimensional floor plan layout can show only a general, limited view of a model; to get the real picture, one needs to add a couple of dimensions to the viewpoint to make the best choices of what will work best for him/her/them! It is not uncommon for (a) person(s) to make a model choice based on the floor plan representation on the LD website, only to change his/her/their mind(s) upon seeing the real thing.

As ever, YMMV.

I think more LD owners would call you 'sonny' than 'shorty'
