Backgammon
It's one of the oldest board games there is.
Any players here?
My mom played, thus I learned to play at an early age.
I like it because of the randomness that dice bring to the game.
I can't count the times I've been in real bad shape, just to come from behind and win.
I have a buddy I play against and we think the Backgammon gods are very fickle.

Great game.

Backgammon has always been a favorite. Next to cribbage it was one of our favorite games among my high school friends. That and Risk. https://youtu.be/d7zuAejNUsA

The only video games available for home players at the time was pong.  https://youtu.be/fiShX2pTz9A 😝

I used to play backgammon with my sister when we were kids.  We would play all the time but no one was really any better then the other.  When I was in my 20's I bought this book on impulse, titled Backgammon For Blood by Bruce Becker (1975 edition).  It completely changed how I played the game and my winning percentage went up dramatically.

I haven't played in 20 years but if I do, I think I'll reread the book first.  You can pick one up used for under $5.00.  Make sure it's the one by Bruce Becker.  Some other author wrote a book by the same name but I don't know if its any good or not.

Happy gaming,
Jack
