Painting yellow panels on screen door
After 16 years of ownership, I looked at the ugly, faded yellow panels on the screen door today and decided they should be painted white (or another snazzy color?) to match the screen and main door. Has anyone done this? What kind of paint works best on those composite panels?

Chris,

What about new panels? Back in the day of the “Modern Kitchen Design” panels were available that would simply slide in or sometimes be reversible on some refrigerators. And a homeowner would simply slide the panel out, flip it over and reinsert.

Perhaps your panels are white or maybe even red on the other side. But then not seeing the inside of the door, perhaps it’s also yellow. 🤗

Just a thought.

The panels are plastic and can be painted with an enamel or preferably, a paint made for plastic.
Your local home center should have white plastic paint in a spray can.

Lightly sand both sides with a 180-220 grit sandpaper and then clean well, wiping with rubbing alcohol .
Mask and paint.
Looking at ours, it's yellow and needs paint too.

Thanks, Larry. It's strange that they never stood out to me until today!
