New sliding window
I have a 2001 23.4 ft TK and need to get a cracked window replaced in Albuquerque, does anyone have any recommendations a about where to take it.  Also the RV has been in storage for 6 months and not run.  I am getting the generator serviced now and the man is telling me to get new lithium batteries as they have not held a charge, but I left them in the on position.  Don’t I just need to run the truck for awhile?  I am not technical, thanks!  Gabriella

We would use RV Glass Solutions in Phoenix. Make an appointment.
Lithium?? Is your charger suited for those?
Or this guy looking for a boat payment?
Wet cells are fine for most purposes.

Unless the previous owner sunk a lot of money into the battery pack, I doubt if you have lithium batteries.
Lithiums are very sensitive to over and under-charging and require a special charger and monitoring circuits.
If you do have dead lithiums, it would be much cheaper to switch back to lead-acid batteries and a different charger/converter.

You are correct.  I went to Battery Systems in Albuquerque and I have AGM batteries,  just shows you how much I know about this.  Anyway they were recommended by Tom’s RV in Albuquerque and wound up getting two new batteries.  Also I was told that both ASAP glass and Horizon glass can repair Lazy Daze sliding glass windows.

LD glass is darker than normal and I would be surprised if they can match it. If it matters to you I would pin them down on that question.

I recently contacted Lazy Daze, since we also have a cracked sliding window.

As Jim mentioned, Lazy Daze uses a custom window tint.  When I contacted Lazy Daze, they directed me to Nagco Glass which Lazy Daze says is who they use for all their glass window support.  When I talked to Nagco Glass, they maintain inventory of the Lazy Daze glass.  They are willing to make the window for you and they are also willing to sell you the glass for you to provide to your local glass shop.

The phone number for Nagco Glass is 909-623-3343.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide to do.

Thank you , this has been a bit of an ordeal. Seeing as it is a 2001, ie pretty old, has anyone put in a not custom glass and matched up the tint as well as possible and if so how’d  it turn out?  The main lady Sandy, at Nagco is in Costa Rica and the one on the phone is insisting that they send patterns etc .

Kentuckian, did you get your sliding glass done?  Would you mind telling me how much?  I have to do both sides, as i have a ding on the other as well as the big crack.  My local glass shop with good ratings and RV experience quoted me $1675 for both, for everything, and that is cutting their own laminate glass and tinting it, putting it in with a butyl tape.  I am waiting for a quote from Lazy Daze still but looks like it going to top $2500, plus I have to figure out how to spend the time while they put it in. I have the old glass windows in the 2001, and I am reluctant to have the insulated glass ones put in because they seem to be fogging up a lot from what I have read here, unless someone here knows better.   Thank you!  I am going to be in the phoenix area in August, so thats an option too.

I’d contact RV Glass Experts in Phoenix (www.rvglassexperts.com), describe what you want, and get their advice on options and at least a ballpark quote.

Good luck.

We had three fogged windows repaired there. At the time if you wanted new glass cut it had to be done at their main location in Coburg, OR and shipped to AZ. That may have changed so I would check. They offered a solid laminate replacement which would eliminate the double pane however it was 7/16" thick. If you have single pane you might not be able to accept that size. Also, the tint did not appear to be a good match although it would be hard to tell for sure until it was in place. They might be able to tint a replacement but I would call first.

Seems to me what they are offering here in albuquerque, except they can do the cutting of the laminate glass here.  It’s an expensive problem.  Hearing that you had three fogged windows confirms my desire not to get the insulated glass.  I can’t see how it would make any difference in insulation as all the rest of my windows are laminated.

I have a 2002 23TK so our windows should be the same.  My crack is in the large sliding glass panel above the bed on the passenger side of the coach.

No I haven't had it fixed yet.  That project hasn't arrived at the top of the todo list yet. <smile>

Sorry... I have misplaced my notes but I believe total cost was in the neighborhood of $600.  Keep in mind that that price is with me doing the installation myself.

I decided that I will have Nagco cut the class and ship it to me.  i don't want to take the risk of buying the glass and having it break while the local company is cutting it.
