Sarah Blackwood
While I can't confirm this I have been told that Sarah passed away this past Saturday. Perhaps someone can confirm this as I know some of you knew her.

I have been trying to get in touch with her for about a year, but she has not answered.  We were in touch a bit before that, but . . .

Sarah is an exceptional person.  I have known her since we researched her very first Lazy Daze together way back when, but we lost constant touch when she married some years ago.

I hope this is a false rumor.

"I hope this is a false rumor."

As do I!

I've known Sarah for many years and a finer lady you'll never meet. Always gracious and fun to be with. She will be missed along with the Tireman.  :(

The information is coming from at least two different people at Jojoba Hills. One of them is having a memorial for her tomorrow. Nothing is posted on her FB page and I can't find an obit for her in Seattle.

She left Jojoba a year or so ago and went back to Washington.

I hope it isn't true either. She was one very classy lady.

As far as I know, Sarah lived in Ellensburg, WA; there is no obituary in that local newspaper, but if she passed away Saturday, that is not surprising.

Hi All,

Here is a message I received from Pete Reed of the NWLD group as Sarah was a member "I am sad to share that our former member Sarah Blackwood passed away on Saturday morning peacefully and surrounded by family.
Pete"

I'm sorry to hear this.  Sarah stayed with us in her LD when we had a lot and home in Quartzsite, probably close to 15 years ago.

Sarah was among my first LD buddies, online here at first and then in person when we joined the LD Caravan Club along with several other Yahooers in December 2003. It was always a joy to see Sarah's smiling face and fun to banter about a bit with her. She was a hoot, someone who made getting older seem OK because she always seemed so young and energetic. Her passing is sad news.

Yes it is true. Sarah passed away this past Saturday. She had lived in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle for the past year or so.
Charlie and I met Sarah in 2002 and kept in touch ever since. Sarah’s first LD Ms Daisy, a 22 foot multiplan, was the first LD I ever set foot in. She showed us how to dump our tanks the first time after we bought our ‘87 LD and taught us a lot about our rig. We thoroughly enjoyed our various visits and camping outings with Sarah over the years and visiting with her at Jojoba. She was fun, quirky, colorful and an all around special person. We miss her a lot.

Condolences to those of you who knew her...sounds like a wonderful friend to have known.  I appreciate those who share, rather like when Bob Moore passed, since I didn't have an opportunity to have known either of them.  That's another thing I like about this community--the caring across the distance of geography & time.

So sorry to hear about Sarah. I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, but I always enjoyed her posts on the forum waaay back near it's beginnings. We also swapped a few emails on occasion. A loss, for sure.

Musing back over the years I sometimes wonder what became of the 'Water Thief' I loaned Sarah one year at Morro Bay? Guess we'll never know but I'm glad it found a new home.   ;D   ;)

I just saw this.  I'm sorry to hear about Sarah's passing.

She once pulled up at my mom's house in Fremont, CA to stay in the parking lot of her art studio for a few days.  She was a very energetic, independent and smart lady who will be missed.

RIP Sarah,

Mike
