In praise of a long time member
My wife Rebecca and I just purchased our first LD, a 2015 24ft Twin King, with less than 30k miles.  We're in New Hampshire, the LD was in Colorado.  This meant grabbing the next flight to Denver, to potentially buy an unseen RV from an unknown seller.  A risky proposition.  Fortunately for us, the unknown sellers were Ed and Carol Daniels, long time members of this group.

Ed is a true gentleman.  He picked me up at the airport and drove me to the RV, walked me through all the systems, set me up with a camp site for the weekend and left me, a total stranger, with the vehicle.  Ed was incredibly generous with his time, knowledge and wisdom.  Through a few email exchanges I felt like I got a sense of Ed's character and integrity, his care of the LD and record keeping was meticulous.  We felt confident in making the decision to jump.  We consider ourselves, VERY lucky and blessed to have Ed and Carol as our introduction into the world of Lazy Daze.  Great people and great Americans.

Very nice of you to post about your experience with Ed. We will miss him on the forum. He often contributed worthwhile posts and was always a gentleman.

Welcome to the Lazy Daze Owners' Forum and congratulations on your new-to-you Lazy Daze.

Mike and Rebecca-

Hello from a fellow "Granite Stater!"

Mark sure you connect with the Northeast LD group. They hold two rallies a year, one in Spring, the other in the Fall. They are a great bunch of folks.

Mike and Rebecca, welcome to the group.  FYI, the North East LD group will be meeting up in Vermont in September.  Please consider yourselves invited (as all LDers are), and consider contacting the group for more info on this meeting and future plans.
Best wishes and safe travels.

Mike The Goat, you scored a great rig. One of the last with the classic paint scheme.
We have known Ed and Carol for years. Spent some weeks wheeling with them in Utah this Spring.
Gonna miss them.

Mike & Rebecca--

Welcome...welcome!  Your experience sounds like a mirror-image to mine with my rig's previous family (except that I took Amtrak from KC to Fullerton, CA).  The graciousness & generosity of the members of this forum is a continuous pleasure.    Rather than a pro forma business arrangement with strangers, I found myself connecting with friends I hadn't previously met.  Welcoming...providing camping arrangements...teaching the systems & driving lessons--I expect to be with my rig for a long time, but hope to pay it forward when that time comes, with the examples of people like Steve & Roxie and Ed & Carol.

Should your travels ever bring you across north Missouri, I'll extend my open offer for boondocking at my farm to all members of what Lisa Tonks dubbed the FOLD (Followers of Lazy Daze).  US 36 & 65 intersect in the north central part of the state with lots of historical options (Walt Disney/Gen. John Pershing/JC Penney/Mormon/Jesse James/etc.) & easy 1.5 hour drives to KC or St. Joseph--and apparently quilters from around the world have deemed Missouri Star Quilts in nearby Hamilton a Mecca (when I went to Ladeze in 2016 I met women in Kemmer, WY, who had just returned from their own pilgrimage).

Hope to hear you sharing your adventures with your new baby.

Thanks very much for the welcome.

We actually joined the NE Lazydazers earlier in the spring and will probably book a campsite in Vermont for the fall rally.  Lynne, thanks for the invite.  I am retiring next May and we will begin full timing then and we will undoubtedly be in that neck of the woods at some point.  Chris H, I could explain where mike the goat came from, but it's really a dull story, so I leave it in the realm of myth.  ;)

Congratulations, Mike & Rebecca,
Ed was kind enough to show us his rig (now yours), when we were in the process of ordering our 2016 from the factory. That was at the Morro Bay LD get together. Ed gave use some excellent tips that made us feel like we'd made the right choice with the LD we ordered. And, he didn't steer us wrong. Ours is wonderful.

Though we've lived in California for over 30 years, my roots are in Concord, NH and my wife's are in Hampton - so we will picture you guys in that beautiful LD enjoying all of New England's amazing scenery.  Have fun!

As soon as can figure out how to get my 10' surfboard in it or on it, the LD will see a lot of Hampton and Rye.
