I did ours without much hassle.   Will say I wore a painters hood and face mask goggles. And a heavy putty knife.

It came off in chunks. It became clean enough to put on SeeLevel gauges and tank rinsers. The valves came clean too.

Somewhere I have a picture of the debris piled under our coach from side to side. A rude caption was debated upon.

Good luck and be patient

Exactly! What more does anyone need but a solid hammer and a Swiss Army Knife?

Why, duct tape to put it all back together, of course!
