Exterior Vinyl Protection - 303 Marine UV Protectant Spary

We finally had enough items in our Amazon cart to get free shipping.  So I added 303 Marine UV Protectant Spray, which is a product other LDO members have recommended as a preferred product for protecting the LD's vinyl parts and surfaces.  I'm really looking forward to using this it.

As a public service reminder, we placed our order on Amazon using the following link from the front page of the LDO Forum:

Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs...

As most know, this practice is helpful to defray some of the Forum's operating expenses without adding any cost to the Amazon purchase.  Again, just a gentle public service reminder.

I've always used '303 Aerospace Protectant'; I wonder what difference there is (besides price; the stuff labeled 'marine' is almost twice the price of the same size spray bottle of 303 Aerospace Protectant) between the products?

A while back, 303 was bought by Gold Eagle; maybe the 'marine' label is simply marketing buzz?

Amazon.com: 303 (30313-CSR) UV Protectant Spray for Vinyl, Plastic, Rubber,...

303® Aerospace Protectant Sprays & Wipes | Gold Eagle

The MSDS sheet on 303 Aerospace Protectant doesn't reveal much; most of the ingredients are identified only as 'proprietary'.

Speaking of 303 AP, last fall as I was Finish Firsting my '02 LD, I realized that no amount of FF or any kind of polish/wax was going to improve the rear lower maroon panels and compartment doors. As many of you know, those areas seem to fade faster than other areas. Having some 303 AP on hand, I thought what the hey and sprayed those areas with 303, wiped them dry and then did it again. Interestingly, this product brought out some color and got rid of some of the dingy, chalky look. And so far into this winter, the "look" is holding. I can't guarantee this would work for everyone, but it did help in my situation.

You stumbled on a good thing Chris. The bin doors on our 2007 really started to fade last year. I tried 303 this morning. It restored the lighter brown on the bin doors to almost the same color as the metal surface. Not as much improvement on the darker brown, but still....

I think I will squirt some 303 on me. I am fading pretty fast.

Don I have had really good results on the faded doors with Gel Gloss rv cleaner wax. It seems to last much longer then the 303 protectant. Gel Gloss Heavy Duty Exterior Cleaner | 38-9014 | by PPL

I tried 303 on Skylark when it was badly faded. It was a big improvement, but the improvement didn't last long. That stuff is great, but it's nowhere near as durable as a polymer wax.
