Receiving posts of threads I started or responded to
Is it possible to receive posts or notices of posts when someone posts to a thread I started or in response to my post in a thread started by someone else?

Right now, I am not aware when someone responds to my posts with a question or comment.  If I do not monitor the thread manually, the question or comment will go unread. 

I want to be responsive to queries and comments, so it would be useful to receive by email a notice of activity on a thread that I created or a thread to which I contributed.

Yes

First, go to your profile ->modify->notifications and and select how you want to be notified.  Be sure to save the settings

Then on the topic you're interested in being notified of, open it and look at the upper right and select "Notify"

Note, whenever you want to stop getting notifications, be sure to go back to the topic (or your profile) and shut them off.
