TV Ignition cut out
I assume this may apply only to 30' models with the entertainment center.

We just had a backup camera and monitor installed. The installer wired the monitor to the TV amplifier switch for power. When we were out on our first drive we learned that when the ignition switch is turned on power to that switch turns off so the monitor doesn't work.

Does anyone know where the connection is located? We would like to disable that feature so the switch will work when driving. I understand that it was done to prevent someone from watching TV while driving but you would have some severe neck problems if you tried.

The installer is here now so would love to know the answer asap.

I have already sent this info to Jim, but here is a post I made a long time ago regarding this issue. It was back when the old Sony 20" TV was recessed into the cavity in the cabover (30' IB).
Cheryl, in our 2002 30' with entertain unit, this is how I was told to disconnect the TV lockout in 2 different places: look for a blue wire directly behind the TV on the driver's side rear corner of the cabinet and/or a blue wire connected to the the yellow/black striped wire in the Ford radio harness accessible by removing the radio.  The blue wire receives power only with the ignition switch in run or accessory.

Jim.

If the switch cuts off with a run switch setting then there is a relay somewhere that is pre tv switch. If you want it on when car is on then I would find the power on lead at the radio. In the radio harness there should be a constant on and a switched power.
Powering the camera vs the monitor is anther story. Stealing power for the camera depends on where the camera is mounted and weather the equipment has an interlink relay of it's own.

Doing function only in reverse involves grabbing wires from the transmission most likely.

Call me if you need me to look at ours for you.

Thanks to Chris the solution was a 5-minute fix. In our case, the black Bosch relay box is behind the panel that has the inverter switch, tv amplifier switch, and amplifier plate. The wire was blue with a spade connector. He unplugged that and taped off the spade connector and works now with the engine on. I am attaching a copy of the photo that Chris took of his wiring. The relay is at the back bottom left.

Lydia, since we wanted to be able to have the camera on all the time when driving he connected it to the switch above the bed that only controls the night light by the door to the toilet. So, to run the camera/monitor we turn on those two switches and are good to go.

Makes sense. Good news. Nightlight switch was handy for my closet light power.

Glad it worked out.

I bought the camera when Orwan was built.    I found the camera worked by default only in reverse.  I have to hit the power switch to get working in other gears.  YMMV
