Re: RV Quality Reply #25 – October 24, 2017, 08:58:49 pm My fiscally conservative and socially moderate Dad told me many times :"Never finance a depreciating asset. Save until you can afford it and then pay cash." He also advised to buy cars that were 90% depreciated and 50% worn out, and always ask the second prettiest girl in the room for a date. His advice was as true now as then, but I didn't always follow it.Of course, we also scavenged for car tires that still had tread left at the local dump and junk yard, bought car parts at the wrecker (bring your tools and pick and pull), burned our trash and took what didn't burn to the dump (no garbage service). It is a different world today... HD 5 Likes

Re: RV Quality Reply #28 – October 25, 2017, 12:10:08 am Dad was a bright guy and a pragmatist. He said that by the time the prettiest girl gets taken out of circulation, you will be gaining the affection of the subsequent prettiest girl in the room. The one I asked out 40 years ago and married 3 years later is still the prettiest one to me. HD 2 Likes
Re: RV Quality Reply #29 – October 25, 2017, 08:59:35 am So speaking of RV quality, I found this nice compilation of motorhome wrecks to the tune of "Highway Don't Care." Based on the damage seen in the video, it's obvious most manufacturers don't either. Didn't see any LD's in the video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTZkd2zGdrM 2 Likes
Re: RV Quality Reply #30 – October 25, 2017, 12:18:57 pm A fine compilation of RV wrecks. Some caused by incompetence, some by stupidity. How does an RV get in a swimming pool? It showcases Elkhardt trash. When you see Ultra Lite on an RV, that is code for the skin is freezer grade tinfoil. Most RV's are bought on price and/or amount of monthly payments. And Elkhardt is happy to make low priced RV's. That's what sells. 1 Likes
