Here is another good site:

Electrek | Charge Forward

We have owned an all electric Nissan Leaf for over 4 years and LOVE it! It's as quiet as our Mercedes, almost zero maintenance, no fumes, and when all costs are included it's the cheapest car we have ever owned. Early EV drawbacks are being overcome. The future is bright for electrics!

The Bolt has received lots of good press and it's an extremely good car. As an indicator of the future, BMW is ramping up to offer 25 different  electric models by 2025...

"The Battery Will Kill Fossil Fuels"?! Typical techno-nonsense from Bloomberg. Their writer is apparently unaware that a battery is not an energy source. As others here have pointed out, most of the energy used to charge batteries is currently generated by fossil fuels. Arrrghhhh...

It's coal, not natural gas (petroleum use for electricity is so small it's negligible) that is a really dirty source. Electricity from natural gas is a much cleaner source, and cars using electricity from it will cause low pollution (not as low as nuclear, hydro, or renewables, of course). Coal  supplies about 40% of the electricity in the US, so it's very unlikely it's supplying most of the energy used by electric cars . Since the use of coal varies substantially from the East Coast (lots of coal) to West Coast (much less), and there are more electric cars out west, the percentage of fossil energy used by electric vehicles is even less than 40%. This article discusses this issue and others:

Climate Experts See Problems With New Maps of Where Electric Vehicles...

It makes the interesting point (among others) that electric cars already produced will pollute less and less in the future as coal continues to be replaced by natural gas and renewables; by contrast, gasoline vehicles in use now will not become cleaner. The article also mentions we are very near, or even at, the point where electric vehicles, regardless of their location (ie, where they get their electricity), pollute less than gasoline cars, including hybrids.

Some more up to date data like that Eric posted, showing the MPG equivalent Pollution  of electric vehicles across the country, taking into account the mix of renewable vs gas vs coal fired electric.

Forget about electric bikes, how about an electric motocross bike.
The prices are not too bad, considering you can spend $10,000 on an e-mountain bike.
