Motorcraft Oxford White Touch-Up Paint

In a previous post, I mentioned how pleased we are with the quality of the Motorcraft Oxford White touch-up paint.  This stuff is widely available and Amazon has it for a decent price.

Amazon.com: Ford PMPC-19500-5920A Genuine Touch-Up Paint: Automotive

We've used it for some dings on the hood and the side walls by the driver/passenger doors.  Yesterday, we used this product to touch-up the 90 degree angle on the passenger side wall which had some stressed paint separation.  Today, we used the topcoat to finish this section.  We're very pleased with the results.

So the motorhome white is the same paint as the Ford white on the cab?     Frank

I remember the days when they sold just the white paint in a touch up for around $6. Now they have added clearcoat to the vial and charge more than twice the price. The downside is they still dry up too quickly after opening.

Stay tuned, I'll tell you about how I walked uphill both ways to school in the snow.

I have trouble with colors when they nearly match, but Margee said the white paints are the same.  Now the Factory sells a larger bottle of Oxford White paint (than Motorcraft) and an activator.  The Factory paint seem to be an excellent quality of paint based on our use of their darker blue touch-up paint.  We may order some of the Factory Oxford White paint next time.

While visiting with the Factory about touch-up paint, I asked how much did the LD decal for the rear tire cover (fake on the '09) cost.  Our's had some road tar and so I used a bit of Goof-Off to clean it and of course it ruined the LD decal.  A replacement costs $38.00 plus shipping and postage.  We're passing even though it leaves our LD a little bit naked.  I'd like to know the cost of the large Lazy Daze decal on the front!

I am going to have to replace that LD decal too, but my ccar Brahe is the old, old style, as is the tumbling letters that spell Lazy Daze. That’s what I want. Oh well.

Yes, Oxford White in cab and body color. Unless it has yellowed (or, as I like to say, aged ivory), like our ‘92.

Ed,

Currently offered on eBay are LD decals but I’m not sure if they are for the cab over or the spare.

My daughter once had a picture she drew made out of vinyl
at a store in a local mall. It was a peel and stick that she placed on the rear window of her car. Looked really nice.  Perhaps you could trace an original and have a Lazy Daze stick on made.

Here are pics of the offerings on EBay. Hope this helps.

The spare tire cover LD decal is actually one that would be fun to have on our '09 MB.  You can just make it out on this RV Trader LD.  If we ever decide to re-paint the cab-over, we'll probably go with the Factory decal regardless of price.  But thank you Ken for your suggestion.
