How nice! Thx, Ed!    I've gotten to the point I don't pay attention to the calendar about such things anymore--I'll probably be back out at the farm whacking brush on Tuesday...though last year I was at Ladeze & excited to qualify for my Lifetime National parks pass; now I've just got two more years to go for Medicare (hurray, then they can't take away my insurance anymore--though I'm hopeful Claire McCaskill's bill to let us buy in early passes).

You do such a nice job of sharing various points that may be of interest to Forum members , and just little odds & ends.  The little country United Methodist Church I attend puts B-days & anniversaries in the bulletin each Sunday.  ;D

Apparently the summer of 1954 was one for the record books in north Missouri...my Little Red-Headed Momma worked for what has evolved into the current Farm Service Agency, on the second floor of the bank in Princeton, MO, with west-facing windows & no air conditioning.  She said she crunched ice all summer--such a great irritant to her boss that "he wished I'd hurry up & have that baby!"  Additionally, she had the misfortune to be in labor on Labor Day (obviously, not much of a holiday, since she was working so hard   ::)  ), in an unairconditioned hospital in Trenton, MO, which she reminded me about every year until Alzheimer's finally let her forget how miserable I'd made her.   :D

Happy Birthday to all you other September babies.
