Toilet Seat
Today was the time to buy a new toilet seat for "Wild Thing," a 2006 MB (picked up 3/07)...relying on Traxless's post on the matter, we headed to Home Depot.

For the specifics a just a tiny bit more fine than Ed posted, the seat is a Bemis, 16.5" R (for round) seat.  In sand/beige...a perfect match and a perfect size for the Sealand OME.  We found that the Bemis item number was pretty much the same for both the "R" and "E" (for elongated).  The price for the seat was $18.97 just as Ed posted a few months ago, which finalized the decision that the "R" was the right one.

The one fly in the ointment, at least for us, is the bolt under the seat that is closer to the shower.  Damn, that is hard to access and work.  A hint to the handyperson...get your kneeler pad and put it in the shower and kneel on that while having your face pretty much in the toilet...so I guess the first hint would be...clean the toilet.  And be sure to turn off the water just in case things take a turn for the unexpected (read that "ugly") with the spray hose.

I'm sure those with greater plumbing and/or mechanical skills will find this job a piece of cake, but it was trying for us.  Be sure to take time-out breaks to (a) unkink the knees and hips, and (b) give the mechanic/s space to "shake it off."

The five most ominous words before starting a new project is "How hard can it be?"   ;)
