Location and Access of LD Rear Bath Transfer Switch
While waiting for our build of a new RB (delivery expected in November), I am getting my ducks in a row, so to speak. One of my first projects will be to hard-wire into the system a Progressive surge protector.  What I would like to know is where the LD places its transfer switch, and how easy is it to access?  If any of you know of any pix of this, a link would be very much appreciated.  I have done a YouTube search, and found several really great install vids, but none expressly on an LD.  Thank you in advance for your responses.

I guess that the pat answer would be: Where ever it fits!

But, given that it may be in different places, including a RB, it's hard to say. Logically you can expect that it will be located near the power/breaker panel. At least that's where mine is in a 30'IB. And, in the same area I have the P.D. Surge Suppressor... it doesn't need a lot of space!   ;)

The transfer switch should be attached to the converter breaker box, or very close. However, you can wire the surge protector into the breaker box, anyway. You will want the delay it provides to protect the AC from lockup due to power interruption regardless of source, and it will also protect against generator issues.

The transfer switch is located on the back of the Power Center.
RB's Power Centers are located on the passenger side, under the stove.
Pull the Power Center out to access the transfer switch. There is room for a hardwired surge protector in the cabinet to the right of the Power Center.
This would also be a good time to install an outlet for a catalytic heater.

That's a good idea!  Thanks, Larry!  Do you know if the cabinet into which the surge protector is mounted should also be vented?  I guess that's a question I should ask Progressive.  It probably doesn't get that hot -- I hope . . .

Thanks, all for the responses.  It doesn't look like I can't wiggle around in there and do it, even with my old knees!

I have mounted them where ever there is room, without any reported overheating issues.
Ours has been powered up for months at a time, in a confined space, for the last ten years or more.
if you need an official answer, Progressive is a good company to deal with.
When Andy's LD was hit with lightening, Progressive replaced the destroyed surge module.
Being modular, any damaged part is replaceable.

If you can tolerate the surge protector not being in the generator power line then it goes under the wardrobe drawers near the shore power connector.

Just an opinion but you don't even want to mess with that power center!

Well, maybe you do.
It's the only way to wire the surge protector so both the shore power and generator power are monitored.
Pulling the Power Center out isn't that hard, it will only come out a short distance, LD made sure no extra wire was used.
