Need Awning/Fiamma is closed?
Hi Everyone,

I ordered a new awning directly from Fiamma (out of Florida) for my 2006 MB in the early part of May.  I never received anything so I sent multiple emails and phone calls with no response.  Today their phone went to voicemail stating "due to the tragedy" they are closed and unknown when they will re-open.

Doe anyone know about this?

Do I have any other options for replacing my awning?  The enter bracket is bent, several pieces are broken, and the fabric is completely dried out and ready to implode due to excessive sun damage.

Thank you!

Scott

Is a mass shooting a good reason to close for a while?

Fiamma is not the only awning vendor from whom you could obtain an RV awning!

When I took delivery in Oct 2004 I asked, was granted and given credit for the omission of the OEM awning. I then proceeded to purchase and have installed an A&E (Dometic) awning from Camping World. That was one of the better decisions I've made in upgrading my rig.   ;)

There are hardly any more words to add to these kinds of incidents.  Bob Synder had helped me too and was very responsive to many of my email requests for assistance.

My recent coping mechanism has been to avoid watching the local and national news because at the end of the news I feel diminished and emotionally sore.    Like I said, there are not any words left in my vocabulary to describe tragedies like these.   My longer term plan is take our LD to the high country and watch birds.

At the least, you might call the LD factory and perhaps under the tragic circumstances they can offer you some advice.  The Mothership has been very responsive to my phone calls.  (Btw, phones call work with the Mothership, emails are not as useful.)  They may even have some awning parts for whatever reason.

Hope this helps.

"Just another day in the USA."

Its sad that is come to this Larry . One day you're off to work but you don't make it home. My prayers are out to the innocent victims and their families.

With that said I do hope they re-open and carry on 😊

A Dometic awning may be a better choice for me. What size did you install?  Any pics?  Thanks

A&E (Dometic) and Carefree of Colorado are the two biggest awning manufacturers; the link to Carefree's product page:

The awning on my 30'IB would probably not fit your 26.5 as it is a full 20' long.

What you choose will be determined by the distance between mounting points. In my case the forward mounting location is just behind the passenger door on the coach body. The rear location is just forward of the point where the coach body starts it's downward curve. I had to be sure that the support arm did not interfere with any compartment doors.

There are numerous choices out there... I bought both of my awnings from Camping World and despite their reputation they got it right both times, but then the location and the competence of the crew may have something to do with that.   ;)

Would you mind sharing what is better about the awning you installed vs the Fiamma, and also as I have a 2003 IB, more specifically what you had installed?  I haven't had a problem with my original awning yet, but now that we spend winters in the windy Texas Hill Country that may change.
