Tailgating in a Lazy Daze? June 21, 2017, 08:56:01 am Heading up to Oakland in a couple of hours to see an A's game tonight and that got me wondering, how many of you have ever tailgated in your LD? If you did, what were your experiences and would you do it again? 1 Likes

If you did, what were your experiences and would you do it again? We did it at a Stanford-USC game in Palo Alto some years ago. It was nice having the fridge to keep the food ready, and the awning to keep the birds from "dropping in" on the spread. The cooking was all done outside on grills, of course. The only downside was that many of the guests wanted to use the rig toilet instead of walking a hundred yards to a facility. 😖 -- Jon 2 Likes

It was actually quite pleasant today in the East Bay with highs in the low 80's. There are, however, a few less hot dogs in the world tonight! 2 Likes

Something to consider, for sure.
Re: Tailgating in a Lazy Daze? Reply #6 – June 22, 2017, 02:13:25 pm We were camping in the desert last year and a person from the next rig over from us, a good sized trailer, walked over and asked to use the head in my camper (with its voluminous 16 gallon holding tank). I asked him what was wrong with his head and he replied that his tank was full and he didn't feel like driving the two miles to dump it at the dump station. I declined his request and told him that he should go dump his tank because he might need it again in the near future. He stood for a few moments and looked at me like I was the world's biggest jerk (Cyndy thinks I'm more like #3, maybe #4 on my good days) and walked back to his rig. They started up and went and dumped their tank. That was a first for me....Harold 15 Likes

Otherwise, you would find yourself providing jiffy john service for their entire family indefinitely. These things have a way of snowballing until YOU are the one considered to be the intruder!GAH! Re: Tailgating in a Lazy Daze? Reply #9 – June 22, 2017, 08:28:02 pm So the reason I asked this question in the first place is because my baseball buddy (Steve) and me have been on a mission the last few years to see as many stadiums as possible. We started with the Caifornia stadiums so this year was the A's, last year was the Angels and Dodgers, and my Padres before that. Next year it's the Giants but after that we'll have to start traveling out of state. I was thinking that making the out of state trips in a LD might be fun! 2 Likes

Re: Tailgating in a Lazy Daze? Reply #12 – June 23, 2017, 03:02:49 pm We have stayed athe the CG next to Candlestick but not during games. It was one of the better choices for other SF Bay Area. It had a pay for shuttle to near the financial district but I guess you could use Uber now. Almost anything is better than trying to park in the city. FWIW. Jack in Hot Reno! 1 Likes
Re: Tailgating in a Lazy Daze? Reply #13 – June 24, 2017, 04:30:35 pm The kids and I went to a couple of spring training games this year in AZ. Before going to the stadium I got info about RV parking...they did have RV parking and the cost was about double than it was for cars. When we got there, RV parking was in a big field. There was no one manning the lot so parking was free. In addition, they sent over a golf cart to drive us to the gate, because parking was 'far away'. Bonus: hot dogs, kettle corn, and our team won. We took the golf cart back to the RV. The second time we went we knew exactly were to go, it was still free parking but we decided to walk, it really wasn't that far. And our team won again. It wasn't a regular season game in a huge stadium......but it was still lots of fun. 3 Likes
