Overall rig "tune up" suggestions
Well JUnah and I have finally sold the  stick house  in Arizona. I need to take my 1998 30 foot rig into Sanderson Ford for a complete going over before hitting the road full-time again. Also the dreaded leaking fuel line between the genset and the gas tank has failed. So I'm going to have the gas tank dropped and that fixed and get the fuel pump replaced while they're at it. I'm also getting the oil changed , lube job ,  flushing the transmission, testing all the bolts and connections, the drivetrain and the steering mechanism's.  I was also thinking about having them test the torque converter as that is something my 107,000 mile Rig may need to have checked? Can you suggest anything else I ought to have checked out tested etc. before I hit the road?

Brake lines flushed and refilled with new fluid, entire system checked.

Wheel bearings checked and greased.

New fan belt.

Coolant system flushed checked and refilled.

It's easy to get carried away, but the safety systems matter most. You can exoect some breakdowns on an old rig, and if they only delay your trip its just an adventure.

Dont forget CoachNet and enjoy every day.

The Ford maintenance schedules gets most of the "big pieces", but there are quite a few maintenance services that should be done at regular intervals that are not covered on the schedules; these are the services that I just had done on my 2003 at 102k miles; know that all the belts and hoses, the brakes, and the plugs were already replaced a few thousand miles ago, and I had replaced the air filter a month or so ago.

Oil, filter change.
Clean, adjust, repack the front bearings, replace grease seals.
Flush, replace coolant.
Flush, replace transmission fluid.
Flush brake system, replace fluid.
Lube brake calipers.
Check parking brake fluid level.
Replace fuel filter.
Replace rear axle lube.
Check carrier bearing, rubber collar, and U-joints.
Check ball joints.
Check steering linkage.
Check shocks (bushings, tightness, etc.)
Check bushings on front anti-sway bar.
Replace front brake rotors.
Rotate front wheels.

I suggest removing the wheel covers before taking the rig in for any service, tires or other; in my experience, it's rare that a service person gets the covers back on correctly!
