factory vent gasket material
does anyone know what the factory uses for the gasket material (not the lap sealant or the seam cover) for the roof vents? i've been searching, but i've only found references to them "not" using the butyl tape, or other gaskets normally supplied with replacement vents...

thanks

They are sealed to the roof with polyurethane sealant.

5200 Even in the gasket area for the 12" vents(between the flange and the roof)? They seem like the vents themselves have a fairly limited life and might be expected to be replaced, especially the ones with plastic flanges...

Thanks for the info,  will select a good poly

Our vents are 14 years old and are In good shape.
Installing vent covers is the secret to the vents having a long life, it's the sun that destroys them.

BTW, vents use a 14" square hole.
