Problem with closet door catch

Our closet doors have these catches.  Hardware House 64-4567 Contractor Pack Roller Catch, Brown, 10-Pack -...

Last time we were driving one of the doors kept popping open. I can't see where they have moved and the rollers appear to be tight. I tried adjusting the catch and won't really know if that helped until we drive again. Do these fail or get weak?

I have little doubt that my closet door catches are any different than yours, being that we both have 30'IBs. I have never had any issues with my 13 year old doors 'popping open'! In fact, if anything, mine are so strong that I've actually pulled the door handle off while trying to open the door. Again, I presume that you also have three (3) catches per door, top, bottom and center!

Have you tried to wedge something between the rollers to gauge the strength of the springs therein??

The latches can get out of alignment, one of the roller breaks or the spring gets weak.
Like anything else, they wear out
New latches are available at any hardware store and are dirt cheap.
If, when adjusting, the latch feels like it is catching but still opens while driving, make sure nothing inside the cabinet can move and press again the door. It doesn't take much pressure to open the latch.

Steve, we do have the three latches. The difference between our LDs is that ours has been used daily for over 8 years now. That said, they look fine and the springs seem OK.

Thanks Larry, I may just go pick some up and see what happens. Nothing that I can see is pushing the door open.
