Historical Banner Photos April 27, 2017, 01:14:45 pm For the next weeks I will be posting some historical photos from the Lazy Daze, Inc. archives that Art Berggreen (Older Fossil) was kind enough to share with us. I will not leave them up as long as I do more current photos. And thanks to Art for doing some photo editing which has made posting much easier.As for the current banner photo, I am assuming we are seeing Paul Newton and Harold Hamm, the founders of Lazy Daze, Inc. If that is incorrect, please let me know. Fifteen years ago last October I sat down with Paul Newton and ordered my new '02 30' which we picked up May 7, 2002. If any of you long-time SoCal Lazy Dazers can add any historical tidbits to this thread, please do so.Chris 6 Likes

Harold Hamm and Paul Newton were shop teachers that built the first truck campers for themselves. Soon friends asked them to also build campers for them, and that lead to Newham Industries and then Lazy Daze Inc. It was after Harold Hamm's sudden death that Paul Newton convinced his brother Ed Newton to join the company. Paul was the camping person and knew what the units needed, but Ed was a much better business man. Paul died in 2004. I suspect Ed has passed as well, but I am not sure.Art

At one time I had thought that Steve Newton, the present owner, was the son of Ed. However I've also been told that Steve is the son of Paul Newton. And wasn't there another brother who passed suddenly in Cheyenne during the 50th Anniversary Celebration? I don't recall his name.
