Congrats to all you newly expectant parents awaiting your baby's arrival!

I'm curious as to what the out-the-door price is on a new LD. After the base price, options, and taxes, are there other fees charged? Anyone care to share an actual breakdown of their cost? You can PM me if you would rather not post it.  Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I don't think anything has changed over the years as regards "other fees". Other than what you mentioned, the only other charge is the fee to drive the LD to the AZ or NV border for those living outside of CA and the new LD is being licensed in their home state.

Congradulations to all you expectant LD parents.

Not that this means much, but from our order number from September 2014 to the present it would appear that the LD storks have been rather busy with the apparent birth of 36 strapping new babies.

Like they say, "It must have been a cold winter".

And another quick question for all the soon-to-be proud parents...  Was there an option to choose a chassis that had the factory  frame rails extending all the way to the back bumper, for better hitch capacity (within limits of completed vehicle, of course)?  Or is the only chassis version available one with short frame aft of rear springs, requiring smaller factory extensions? I realize some layouts may need more width back there; my point of reference is my 2000 FL.

There are no chassis frame alterations on the list of options. I can't imagine LD doing that but a phone call is the only way to be positive.

Congrats to all of you soon to be LD owners!  We were just at the factory today to get some things fixed (mostly my own doing  O:)  ) on our 10 month old LD.  As per my usual experience with the factory, customer service was spectacular... Vince and Todd went above and beyond what they needed to do.  (Todd even bought my kids lunch  :) )  So be confident in the fact, that not only are you getting a quality coach, but they will also back up that with great service.

I had the rear window replaced at the factory a few months ago. I was in the office at lunchtime, reading. I travel with a dog, who was lying on the floor next to the chair and usually stays put when she's told. Todd was in his office having his lunch, which included Fritos. I heard him talking, but thought nothing of it until I heard, "Uh, she's been staring at me; is it OK if I give her a Frito?" One Frito, then retrieved the dog because Todd was a marked man from that point.  ;)

Additional costs beyond base price and options is a $55.00 doc fee, $20.00 one way permit fee.  We live in Az. so Todd arranged for a driver and a notary which is around $470.00 total for both.  For those just behind me with your LD build, from the time I put my 4k down on April 11, 2016  to March 24 2017 it will be 49 weeks.  Hope this helps those, walking the floor.

Thanks, I didn't know if there were destination or other misc. fees. Since LD's are sold factory-direct, I guess there is no destination fee if you pick it up yourself.

Not that I could afford a new one anyway but in case I win the lottery or something, lol!

If you buy anything in California you pay the sales tax.   The company selling the item is responsible for getting the sales tax to the State.    If the company doesn't collect the money from you they still have to pay the money due to the State.    Therefore LD has a system in place to sell you  the RV in  a place that doesn't require a sales tax.   You pay for the driver, Notary and State one-way trip fee.  Legally the one-way trip certificate requires that the vehicle can not enter the State of California for one year after issue. 
This process is good for those living in States that have a lower or no sales tax.

This has been a great posting.  We put down our deposit on September 28th last year for a 27' MB.  The invoice number is 8905 which is 5 more than you, Ross and Beverly.  We were hoping for a June pick-up.  Any word on yours at this point?  This will be Marie and my first RV and we are so glad it is going to be an LD.

Our pick up date is April 21st.  We are excited about getting Cat's Meow #4 and to be back in a LD after trying the Class A world for several years.

Just picked up our 27MB 1 month ago and could not be more happier with the choice. The wait of 1 year from DP till delivery was well worth the wait. We drove back from California to Florida, here till June, then head back to NY. I would say we averaged 10mpg on the way home driving conservative and I think it might get better as it breaks in. Thanks for the information.  Calculating the run rate at approximately 2/month we should be getting ours in early or mid-July.  It stretches some of the plans we had for visiting family in Minnesota in early July, but what the heck...we'll be cruising with smiles regardless.

Congratulations, Bev and Tim!  We're sure it will be worth the wait too.  Where are you in Florida?  We're in Sebring now (I've lived in Orlando (8 years), Tampa (3 years) and St. Pete (13 years) with stints in Queens (8 years) and Cary, NC (9 years).  We'll be driving back from California to Florida before heading north to the Twin Cities, the UP of Michigan, suburbs of Detroit and Cape Cod.  Can't wait.  We hope all your travels are safe ones.  David and Marie
