Delivery Report of 2017 Mid-Bath (long)
After waiting nearly 18 months, I finally took delivery of my 2017 Mid-Bath on May 25th.  I had shipped around 18 boxes to Lazy Daze as I had so much stuff from my 2003 Twin-King and had ordered a few new things.  Had the ICC driver take me to Las Vegas.  I had planned on only spending one night there, but ended up staying two nights as it took me that long just to unpack the boxes.  The Lazy Daze is beautiful!  I sure like the additional room compared to my previous LD.  As an option, I had a second table put in the rear lounge, like there is in the Twin-King.  I had been very anxious about the prospect of driving a longer RV, but am finding that there is not much difference from the shorter Twin-King.  Haven’t backed up much so can’t report on that yet.  As others had mentioned, the upholstering of the sofas is not the same quality as that of the older model.  I had all the upholstery in the coach and the valences made in the same fabric, ash, which is like a tweed.  I think it looks very nice and I will be able to change colors with accessories.   The shades are now pull-down white blinds for privacy and a screened/mesh-type shade for the sun.  I just love the floor with no carpeting at all except for in the cab.  It is so much easier to keep the floor clean.  In fact, I had planned on buying throw rugs first thing, but the floor looks so nice that I haven’t and am not sure that I will.

A couple of comical things occurred.  When I was at the airport in NJ and going through security for my flight to CA, I was patted down.  Then two agents started going through my carry-on luggage.  I could sense that they were suspicious about something.  I had packed a while back and couldn’t even remember what I had packed.  As it turned out, I had a sealed box that the Tireman had mailed me containing tire valves stems for the LD.  They opened the box.  I could see where the valve stems might have looked like weapons in the x-rays.   Then when Todd had picked me up at Enterprise car rental, one of the first things he asked me was where I was going to put the inversion table and book shelves in the LD.  I had been saving boxes to ship things and there was a box that had originally contained an inversion table and two boxes that had originally contained book shelves.  He said everyone at Lazy Daze was speculating about where these items were going to fit inside the RV.  We had a good laugh.

Todd told me to keep an eye on the front tires to determine if I need an alignment.  I have been driving in very windy weather so am not sure if the LD needs an alignment or if the wind bursts have been responsible for swaying.  I’m still looking for someone to install the valve stems.  Am traveling in ID, MT, WY, OR, and CA during the next months.

Monica,

Congratulations on your NEW LD. If and when you make it to So Cal and haven't had the Valve Stems installed you may want to check out Allen Tire Co. $60 to install mine when we picked up our '15 RB at the Mothership.

I had the front end aligned at a local Ford Truck Service Center when I accumulated a 1000 miles, I think.

Don't you just love that new LD smell? As for the blinds, my wife and I pull both sets of blinds at night. The white blinds are kinda glaring under the LED's so the black sun shade makes for a nice ambiance for evening rest time.

Enjoy your new rig.

Monica, congrats.  I suggest that you do not do the alignment until you have your rig fully loaded, the way you will be traveling, with full tanks of gas and water.  That will compress your suspension to your future travel condition, so the alignment will be right.  Doing an alignment before loading may result in an improper alignment.

Congratulations Monica! A new new new LD must be very exciting.

If it is time to align When you are in OR, I recommend Henderson's Line Up in Grants Pass. Good service, they know these rigs very well, and are honest.  But be forewarned, they like to sell additional ride enhancements like sway bars, panhard rods, shocks.  You can just say no and the service will remain professional.

As Kent mentioned, and as the manual recommends (if I recall) driving around a bit prior to alignment is beneficial.  Lets things settle in a bit.

Let me add my congrats as well. A new LD is born!

Funny story about the shipping boxes! I probably would have played along and told Todd I was going to hang the inversion table on the outside ladder and that the bookshelves were for the overcab library.  :D

Concur with others to wait a bit on the alignment for loading and break-in.

Enjoy your new baby!

May I add my congrats also.  Yup nothing like the feel of a new LD.

On wheel alignment I agree with all the others wait a few 1000 or so miles of actual 'camping' conditions.  As you are on 'old' hand at LDing you'll know pretty quick what your normal loads on the front end.   I had mine aligned at 5000.  We needed a spacer added because the standard alignment tolerances couldn't get the front end into 'spec'.   Of course all of this depends on each personal use.

In any case enjoy.

Congratulations!  Understand you will be staying on the left coast for awhile.  Be sure to check the group website for announcements.  Carol and I will be hosting a rally next spring.  Sure hope you can make it.

Congrats on picking up your new LD, Monica!!  I know it must have  been lonely in your driveway since last November when we drove off with  your "old" TK!   (We are quite enjoying the little LD this spring, and she got a good bath inside and out yesterday in anticipation of our end of June road trip).

Many happy travels this summer!!  :D

Thank you all for your congratulations on my new LD and for the helpful advice.  I have had a couple of inquiries of why there was such an exceptionally long wait for my LD.   In September 2015, I had called Lazy Daze and wanted to place an order.  I was told that all the 2016s were sold or on order and I would have to wait for the 2017s.  So, I said I wanted to place an order for a 2017.  I was told that I would be placed on the waiting list “to order” and that in a year from then I could place the order if I was still interested.  Instead, I called in June 2016 and Todd said that I could place the order at that time, which is what I did.

I don't think the wait is nearly this long at this time.
