Hammock Sale May 13, 2017, 12:04:58 pm I purchased a backpacking hammock for my daughter from Warbonnet (Lightweight Camping Hammocks | Backpacking Hammocks | Warbonnet Outdoors...). I was impressed with the construction. They are having a sale that significantly marks down the price of some items. My daughter now uses her hammock instead of the overhead bunk. I almost did not post this but thought someone might like one for a bug free outside loung. If folks feel this is to close to spam mods please remove the post. Re: Hammock Sale Reply #1 – May 13, 2017, 12:38:24 pm Good tip. I find hammock sleeping the best way to backpack light and still sleep at night. Also makes a great seat. When there are places to hang one, there is no better way to make a campsite work regardless of slope, rocks, roots.

Knowing that many campgrounds frown 😟 On tying hammocks to trees, I later purchased a stand from Home Depot. They are available on eBay and Amazon as well at a reasonable cost. Packs neatly in its own zippered bag and erects in minutes. No shade? Move the hammock stand and all. No trees close together? No problem it stands on its own. Of course if you're backpacking this stand isn't a good option, but those days are long gone for me.Total weight of the stand is 25 lbs. I prefer the stand because it saves a tree unnecessary wear. After bearing the load of a thousand hammocks, those ropes can rub the tree's bark pretty thin.Here is a shot of the stand I got for my DW's camping pleasure. Just saying'Kent
