Need general information on 2003 30ft LD with 43,000 miles in WA. February 22, 2017, 06:45:53 pm I need information on why you would or would Not buy a 2003 30 IB Lazy Daze? Is this the year there is a larger Chassis? It has been stored outside in that cold weather for years. It has Factory Levelers, and the roof was resealed a couple of years ago. The tires are not that good but we would put all new ones on before we drive it back to CA. The first owner was from CA. so it was originally smogged in CA. (but it was years ago) It is a long - long drive to go get it so we need information from you knowledgeable Lazy Daze Owners before we go. thanks Sandra

Reply #1 – February 22, 2017, 06:55:09 pm " It has Factory Levelers..."There are no such thing as 'Factory Levelers', LD never has installed levelers of any brand. I am the original owner of a 2004 30ft Island Bed. When I purchased my rig LD was offering Kwickee levelers, which were installed by a different shop. I still have them and they serve me well. Not knowing anything beyond what you said in your post I cannot comment on this 'for sale' rig. Currently I have 89,000 miles on the odometer so 43,000 on a 2003 seems really low. I wonder how long it's been sitting in that damp climate??? 1 Likes

Okay, so you've got a fourteen year old rig with a roof reseal two years ago! That still leaves a large amount of time before the reseal took place. My question is why did they go so long before thinking that a reseal was necessary. I had my roof resealed in about half that time. Could there have been a leak that prompted the action? 1 Likes

Adding levelers adds 200 to 250 pounds. We full time in our 30' and don't have levelers or more than 2 batteries for that reason. If you aren't full timing it most likely wouldn't be too much of an issue.Jim 1 Likes

Reply #6 – February 22, 2017, 09:33:49 pm There is at least one (1) woman on the LDO who travels by herself and her 4 legged alarm in a 30' LD. If she doesn't jump in here within a day or so, send me a message and I give you her name so you can message her. She had done a great job on her LD, which is a 2005 Twin Bed LD. I'm sure she'd be pleased to help you. 2 Likes

Where we live on the Olympic peninsula we receive less precipitation than San Diego. Temps range between 39-70 all year. Much better than blazing sun! I bought a '92 with 43000 miles, but it was driven every week for a couple of hours. Resealed is good, was that the only time it was resealed? Was it stored inside? I am missing a lot of information on this, did I miss a link to an ad, or other posts on this topic? 1 Likes

West of the Cascades, it is damp; east of the Cascades, it's dry, but can receive a lot of snow in the winter.

I know how disappointing that is. I'm actually looking at buying something else now while I continue my search. There are quite a few RV's for sale in my area. As I weed out the leaky ones, I hope to wind up with a dry one. Don't give up. Our LD's are out there. We just have to keep looking.Mimi
Re: Need general information on 2003 30ft LD with 43,000 miles in WA. Reply #15 – February 26, 2017, 08:40:00 pm I gotta to say it. . . I looked for up to a year on line before and then traveled as much as up to 400 miles by car to look at many LDs. Some of them were also right here in my backyard in the greater Puget Sound. (although we live on an island so every trip is delayed by a ferry) We just did not see what we wanted and thought to give up but continued looking and ours showed up 150 miles away and we got there first and bought it. Don't Give up! Take a break from the intense looking and the emotion that goes with it and maybe take a look at some other SOBs to clear the pallet(so to say) and refocus. Soon after we found our MB we saw other great units available, so they are out there. LDO here is a great source for information and listings and help. Don't Give Up! Karen~Liam 98~MB 1 Likes
