Conversations while driving
Forever on the lookout for other LD's, my kids and I always point them out to each other.  (And often visit other LD's owners when we see a LD at our campground).
This conversation was had between me and my 10 year old yesterday, while driving around San Diego...

10yo: Mom there's a Lazy Daze, on the port side
me: I see.  It looks like the one we saw earlier today
10yo: It's definitely NOT the same as the one we saw earlier
me: Oh, yea, I guess you are right.  That one looks like a baby blue color, and the one earlier was more of a teal color
10yo: Mom.  That is a rear bath...the one earlier was not a rear bath.
me:  :o

Clearly, he's looking at things on a whole different level than I am.

Yes, kids are more observant than we realize. Sounds like he has learned marine terminology as well (port and starboard)!

When we were kids we took many road trips in the family station wagon.

Being the youngest of four kids, I was always amazed at my older brothers (4 years my senior) ability to differentiate between vehicle make, model and year.

I'm pretty good at telling one LD from another but cars still puzzle me. Unless of course it's a '70 GTO. Then I'm all over it.

Yea, we use marine terminology, because when we are driving, not everyone is facing the same direction. ;-)

Port, stbd, bow, and stern work for us.  Lazy Daze roof needs scuppers.

Teal is still a duck.

"Lazy Daze roof needs scuppers"

And don't forget to "batten down the hatches!"

BTW, this photo was taken after our local 75mph wind gusts. Maybe I should have said, "batten down the trampolines!"

Thx, though I had to stifle an out-loud guffaw here in the library.   When I was a kid my dad explained why neighbor had red & green lights (instead of yellow bug lights) by his front door.

Now I know what LDy Lulubelle is (since she's teal).   ;D  ;D

Oh, dear...that looks like it could be Missouri in tornado season.  All of y'all in the west have been in my prayers...that Oroville Dam looked especially scary--there was devastation throughout the Missouri-Mississippi valleys with the Flood of '93, but at least I was & am on high ground (if it gets to me, it's time for an Ark).
