Lazy Daze production February 13, 2017, 03:49:18 pm Does anyone know how many units LD produces per year? I am just kind of curious. I have done a google search and could not find an answer.

Re: Lazy Daze production Reply #3 – February 13, 2017, 07:59:43 pm I don't think it's anywhere near 200 these days.Order #8843 serial #5555, delivered 2/27/15. Anybody else?Steve 1 Likes
Re: Lazy Daze production Reply #4 – February 13, 2017, 08:04:34 pm That you Michelle.Wow 200 isn't very many. Now I understand why there are so few used ones for sale. Winnebago builds around 9000 units per year.
Re: Lazy Daze production Reply #6 – February 13, 2017, 08:35:51 pm Regarding Lazy Daze production, I think most of you would be shocked by the reported production figures. The 200 unit, plus or minus per year figure, might have been accurate in the early 2000's. But if you do an internet search of "low volume class C manufactuers", you will see some shocking figures that were reported on Rv.net forums.I think it shows 11 LDs in 2015 and 22 in 2014. Accurate? Who knows. They won't tell you. Last time I inquired about why so long of a wait, I was told "We aren't producing in volume anymore". Meanwhile the RV industry is booming. My thought is when the recession hit, they scaled back production and concentrated on repair business and never ramped production back up. No surprise there are so few newer used units for sale. Not a pretty picture.Steve K. 1 Likes
Re: Lazy Daze production Reply #7 – February 13, 2017, 09:25:20 pm Well if the serial numbers are consecutive. And Steves 2015 is number 5555 and my 2002 is number 4152. That would be 1403 units made in 13 years.

Inquiring minds want to know... Speculating, but Lazy Daze Inc is a privately held company and ownership has always held production stats close to its vest. In the realm of RV companies, there are precious few home-owned manufacturers left. Guess we should overlook their idiosyncrasies and be grateful they still make a quality, value-priced product. Re: Lazy Daze production Reply #11 – February 14, 2017, 12:35:53 am At maximum production, back the late 2000s, LD built around two hundred units a year. Maximum production has always been limited by their obsolete, grandfathered spray booth. The AQMD has restricted their permit to this limited number. Steve didn't want to build a new booth, due to the high cost, probably close to million dollars. Today, production is maybe a half of what it was, no one in the Caravan Club seems to know and the Mothership isn't talking. During the recession, Ford scaled back production of the E450 and never got it back to pre-recession levels. With the recovered RV market, larger RV manufacturers, such as Fleetwood demand most of the available units, leaving the smaller builders out in the cold.Larry 2 Likes
