But Greg--

What about rotors on the roof/tail, or rotating wings like the OSPRAY?   ;D  Though I suppose, with those slides, tile floors, granite (-looking) counters, etc., maybe they had to cut some weight so the passengers could get in...

If you open the link and zoom in,  you will see the coach is a dual axle travel trailer, with the tongue pointed toward the rear.
The trailer's axle is still attached with two of the four wheels removed.
It appears that the trailer can be removed, allowing the rear of the truck to be used as a flatbed.

Larry, I can't zoom the image, but I see now that it's a travel trailer! How would they get the trailer on and off the flatbed? I've seen plenty of loading/unloading of a CAT and other equipment, but those are motorized vehicles. Maybe back a tow vehicle up a big ramp, hitch the trailer, drive down to unload? And, back the trailer attached to the tow vehicle up the ramp to load? I would sure like to watch that process! (I'm pretty easily entertained!  :D )

I had the same thought.  Extra-long pull-through sites only!!

My husband has been lusting after a GXV or Earthroamer or Unimog type expedition vehicle for some time now.  Since we're just starting out in the RV lifestyle (after many years of tent camping off our motorcycles) I managed to convince him we should start small and see if we even like the lifestyle before spending a lot of money we don't have on a big rig...  ::)

The video for the amphibious motorcoach was way cool, though.

Joan's comment got me looking. I originally thought it was a flat tow truck, but I think not. OK, ramps and loading docks may explain how to get the trailer up there.

But what are the two axles under the rear end of the trailer just behind the truck cab? Did they drop the trailer onto another and squashed it flat?

So easy to amuse me late at night.

Looking closely at it again, zoomed in, the truck is a tilt bed, tow truck.
The trailer is winched up onto the tilted bed.
The trailer's two forward wheels are removed to clear the truck's rear tires.
