Onen Generator not sitting straight.
Is this normal? I've had my LD for about 6 months now and I just noticed that my generator is not sitting straight.

Yes, that's how Emeralds sit. It's fun to watch them start and stop, with the soft engine mounts, it bounces all over the place.
The Emeralds are very durable, when taken care of.
In fleet service they often had the twice the life spans of the later Microquiet generators.
Until 15 years ago, when diesel generators became affordable, Emeralds were found in many light-towers, the type used in to illuminate night constructions sites.
The Emerald's downside, they are noisy.

Yes, this is normal, even the Onan drawings show that.

Good to know, thanx.

I take it checking oil is not a problem then. Seems like most of the oil goes to the front and you get a false reading. I'd hate to overfill this thing.

As long as the LD is sitting flat, the generator's dipstick reading will be correct.
