Amazon Support of LDO Forum

Just in case we have some newer LDO members who don't know that using the following Amazon link - Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs... - benefits this forum.  So when ordering something from Amazon, if you use this link, the Forum benefits in a small way (and without cost to the customer) which helps support this expense of running this forum.

Secondly, if there are some LDO like myself who can't remember what they had for breakfast yesterday, this is a remember.  And I'll not become a pest with posting this information, unless I forget this promise.   What helped me to remember this bit of information was I used this Amazon link to order some wonderful stuff for our LD, which arrived today.  And so it goes.

Thanks, Ed, for the reminder. The Amazon link is also posted under "Helpful Links" on the home page.

Haven't used this as yet but am getting ready to place an order soon. So as long as we click on the link provided and place the order, we do not need to do anything else?

Thanks for the link. Does it give money for everything bought at Amazon?  Or only some items (or item types)?

My understanding is that it depends on the item type; Amazon refers to "qualifying items" in the affiliate agreement.  And if items are returned, the referral bonus for those items gets pulled back.

"My understanding is that it depends on the item type; Amazon refers to 'qualifying items' in the affiliate agreement."

Yes, most items qualify for Amazon Associates referral fees, but the percentage varies depending upon the class of item and on how many buyers use the Amazon Associates link. Typical percentages seem to run between about 4% and 7%.

Just to make it clear how this program works: buying things via an Amazon Associates link such as those in this forum does not increase the cost to the buyer. The percentage paid to the Associate (in this case, the LDO Forum) comes out of Amazon's profits. In other words, this program is a way of transferring money from Amazon's pockets to the operators of this forum at no cost to you, the member. It's a win all around!

Thanks for clarifying this, Andy. I would encourage any members who are not otherwise committed to supporting another Amazon affiliate membership to support LDO's. Your support offsets administrative costs incurred by Steve and Michelle.

Until I learned about the opportunity to help support LDO via Amazon purchases, I had not really given Amazon much thought.

I've been using eBay for my online purchases. I still use eBay as there are many things unavailable on Amazon. But now, I am a proud Amazon Prime member and always "click" my saved LDO forum support link.

I couldn't be happier with Amazon. I try to use the Prime feature whenever possible. Should be something on the porch this afternoon.

I'm always glad to support LDO. It's a simple thing but means so much.

Thanks LDO you always make my day.
