Good places to eat
Non Vegan Eating

Ixtaxpa - Montgomery, AL - Order Juanita’s Special, wonderful spicy sauce, but divine flavor.

Tortugas - Hoover, AL - Simply one of the best Chicago style pizza pies you will find anywhere. After 4 only.

La Cocina Bar and Grill - Temecula, CA - A large step above the usual.

Cowboy Dinner Tree - Silver Lake, Oregon - Bring an appetite. Fare is either a whole chicken or the better part of a cow. Plus a large bowl of salad, bean soup, pan of rolls, dessert and drink. Take tupperware for the left overs. No electricity, battery powered lighting. You can overnight across the street. Only open a few nights a week, you should call ahead to pick your entree. Just showing up, may not work.

Crux Fermentation Project - Bend, OR - Great sandwiches and beer.

Cooper’s BBQ - Llano, Texas - Simply the kind of Q we like. They cook every kind of meat on the weekends. We like ribs and prime rib. Not as many choices on week days, but always ribs that are never shaved. You go to the pit, pick what you want and they cut the amount you want. You pay by the pound. The sauce is divine. Comes with cowboy soup and as many loaves of white bread as you want.

Red Iguana - Salt Lake City, Utah - It’s all about the sauce and they have 12 mole sauces. Downtown. Very popular.

Jota's RV.

I prefer to make my own meals as much as possible. Not only is it much cheaper, I get to have my meal exactly how I want it, every time.

When I do treat myself to a meal I don't prepare, I usually go to a place that I have found through my research of the location I currently am staying.

I am currently in the Ashland, Oregon area, have found a few places I like in the area but boy howdy are they proud of it here as the prices are pretty expensive.

Sammich- Ashland, Oregon. They make some damn fine sandwiches, the Albacore is made from fresh Tuna poached on site and made into tuna salad. It's the best tuna sandwich I've ever had. Other choices are a very decent Pastrami, aslo made in house.

Back Porch Bar and Grill- Jacksonville, Oregon. BBQ in the Texas style as I like it. The brisket is very nice, the beans are very good and the ribs are fall apart in your hands. Sauce is important and I like what they have.

I grew up in Tucson and some of the old traditional places still exist today and are still doing it right.
Been eating here since the 70's and they haven't changed much, a good thing.

El Corral.  I do the prime rib and ribs combo. Reasonable prices and great food served in a nice old building.

El Charro. Carne Seca, oh my, this stuff is good. They have been doing it for a long time the old fashioned way and it shows.

Pat's Chili Dogs. 1202 W Niagara St, Tucson, AZ 85745. Old school Tucson drive in with very good spicy chili dogs.
