97 TK solar November 06, 2016, 06:28:57 pm So I did this install 6 months ago and just now took some pictures. LG 310 watt, 32 volt solar panel with a blue sky controller. I had water damage to the compartment where a generator could have gone.(Sorry, but you are not allowed to access the gallery)The only thing I am disappointed in is the amount of power generation under trees and rain/cloudy conditions. I only see around 80 watts. Is 26% what others get? I had planned on adding another controller and 18 volt panels but we have never dropped to less than 92% of our capacity and that was after a rainy under tree weekend where the panel could not quite keep up.

Solar panels can't generate full power when shaded or in cloudy conditions.
Re: 97 TK solar Reply #2 – November 06, 2016, 06:52:42 pm I know it was wishful thinking I could get more. It does start charging with very little light being a 32 volt panel which is nice and when I install the inverter I'll add some more 100 Watt panels in the back and maybe some that I can move on the ground to get around a shady spot.

Re: 97 TK solar Reply #4 – November 06, 2016, 08:09:23 pm Camping up on pikes peak was worth it. You can only do it once a year for the hill climb. Glad I didn't have something larger as it was a slow tight fit to get our spot.
