replacing swivel chairs in 31'
Inquiring to see if anyone has replaced the swivel chairs in their Lazy Daze.  I have a 31' 2006 Anniversary Edition.  I hate these chairs.  I do wish the dining table was a bit narrower where you could swivel the chairs without scraping the walls or backseat of driver seat.  Any comfortable alternatives out there?

Hello, bb. What's your name?

I have looked at these Harbor Town wall hugger recliners at La-Z-Boy. They are comfortable and might fit. Google Shopping - Product not found

Chris, the link didn't work, but I Googled those chairs and looking at the specs they are too big. A few years ago we were wanting to replace ours, and we could find nothing out there as small as the barrel chairs we have in our "06, I called Lazy Daze to find out about getting a couple of the new chairs they use now, but they are even too large because the table in the newer 31' models is smaller. The only thing we found that would fit was office chairs, which we really didn't want. So we ended up getting them reupholstered and had the foam replaced with denser foam.

Good to know, Gayle. Thanks. The link just worked for me. I had toyed with the idea of removing one bench seat and buying a smaller dinette table and adding a wall hugger recliner; however, everything I'd have to remove is so well put together that it would leave multiple scars. The bench seat framework is screwed to the main LD framework from the outside to the inside so there's no way to remove anything without ripping things apart. A pox on LD for building such a solid coach!  😉

Good  Morning:

We have a 31 foot 2007 with the barrel chairs.  We love them.  I pull the driver's seat full forward and we pull chairs out a few inches from the side wall, they work great.  We have hundreds of hours of use.  Might be interested in something else if it was better.  We'll keep in eye out

I have a stressless recliner as a replacement for my barrel chair. (Courtesy of the NWLD group, where I met a couple who had 2 stressless recliners in their LD) Not an inexpensive option, but VERY comfortable and well worth it

Installation tip: assemble in the rig.

Here's a link to the Ekornes Stressless collection... not sure which "model" of this collection the other group members have but I sat in the ones put in the 24' LD  that was in the NWLD group...I would consider them if my someday LD needed new chairs and I still had lots of $$$...they are also sold through specialty stores that sell items for your back so have good support..  Leather Recliner Chairs | Scandinavian Comfort Chairs | Recliners

I went into the classifieds to try and find the 24' (2005 24' brown Lazy Daze) that was for sale end of last year in hopes there were pics attached...didn't see any pics and they didn't mention which Ekornes chairs they had specifically...these were the ones I had sat in that were so comfortable...

Friends found office chairs, at Costco, that fit their 06 31" IB perfectly.
I tried one of their chairs in our 23.5' FL and it didn't fit, the 31' Lounge has more space for chairs, around the table.
Glad we still like the original barrel chairs.

The above link is correct and has pictures. I chose the smallest, most unadorned ekornes stressless recliner available at the time. I'm 5'7" and wanted a chair to fit me. I know the other set of chairs I've seen in a 24FL were larger models and they fit the space fine. For road travel, I just flip the ottoman over onto the seat and batten it down with the chair "seat belt."

Likewise Jim - we've searched a couple years - looked at Qsite w/a tape measure, etc.  Nothing. So we're planning reupholster while in Yuma later this month.  While there last year, we found a couple of shops highly recommended.
