Questions about HP22b solar controller
My controller is being strange..I think.
Lately, it has been going  To "pulse green indicator" when  the batteries are showing 84%. It is showing the batteries  at 14.33. But my trimetric monitor is showing them at 13.5. It is noon here, and the panels should be putting amps into the batteries around 14 plus, bringing them to near full by 3/4pm.
Right now the 3 100 watt panels are only putting in 8.4 amps, I assume, because the HP22B is  not allowing the panels to continue to change at a regular rate (i.e..the "charged full" indicator on it.
What's going on here? This means I am rarely back to 100% ever. I use a lot of daytime amps, and really need my panels to recover as the sunshine state.🤔

sounds like you have a poor connection somewhere between the Heliotrope and the batteries. Measure the voltage from the battery negative terminal to various points on the 12V line from the battery positive terminal all the way to the Heliotrope to locate a bad connection. Note that if done this way you find the voltage at the charge controller reads nearly the same as at the batteries, then you have a bad ground connection somewhere. This is assuming that the Heliotrope is not bad.

Thanks for the thought Steve. Unfortunately I don't have a way to measure the voltage wiring is right up behind my refrigerator across to the roof and down behind the cabinet  over the couch very little access to wire. I'm going to try and see if AM solar will take a look at it...I'm in Bend, Ore. Right now, will check with them tomorrow am. It's working but this stopping the charge rate @ 85% while the sun is shining full on doesn't work for me☹️

Gini, you would only have to be concerned about where there are connections. The Heliotrope can be removed to access its output cable, and the other end is probably inside the converter box at the fuse panel. There you can also measure the battery cable voltage where they connect to the fusepanel, and compare that to the voltage right at the batteries. This will narrow down the search. AMSolar will do just that.
