Smart Tiles!
I used the "peel and stick" Smart Tiles in my kitchen area.  They really brighten up the area!

We've considered using these Smart tiles too.  In fact, we spent considerable time looking at all the choices.  We just weren't sure how well they would "wear."  We couldn't find all long-term reviews for these tiles.  Do you have any opinions about the long-term durability?  And thanks in advance.

Hello Cheryl.  We are considering installing Smart Tiles in our kitchen too.  In fact, we have picked out our preferred tile and probably will give it a go once our weather cools down a bit.  At any rate, how have your Smart Tiles holding up for you?   Look forward to hearing from you.

I'm pleasantly surprised!  They look great and I thought they might peel at the edges over time, but once they "set" they're on to stay.   My RV is actually outside at a storage facility (I was there just "checking" yesterday) and they look great.  In my opinion they were a great investment to "spruce up" the kitchen area.  Love them! ;D

Hello Cheryl.  Your suggestion for Wayfair was terrific and could save us nearly $125 on this project compared to Home Depot's prices for the exact tile we're considering.  So thank you very much.

So tonight, we're going to re-measure the kitchen backsplash area and see how many tiles we'll need.  If we decide to go forward with this project, we'll post some pictures.  We think these Smart Tiles could brighten the kitchen area and give it a special look.  At any rate, thanks again.  Take care.

We ordered out Smart Tiles from Wayfair (thank you Cheryl).  DW, who is our in-house expert on all things related to color and matching, ordered Muretto Brina 10.20" x 9.10" Peel & Stick Wall Tile in White, Light Blue Metallik.  Smart Tiles Muretto Brina 10.20" x 9.10" Peel & Stick Wall Tile in White,...

The price was 50% of Home Depot, which made us feel like bandits.  We plan to start the installation next week, when we're calm, cool and collected and after we have cooled down the inside of our LD.  My part of the job is to stay out of her way and avoid any suggestions or guidance.  So while DW is inside, I'm going to flush the water heater and put more wax on the rear and hood of the coach.  If it turns out as nice as Cheryl's installation, we'll post some pictures.  Otherwise, not!

Btw, Cherly ... do you have any suggestions for installation based on your experience?  If so, we all ears.

I love my Smart Tiles.  Ed and Margee - you both are too nice.  Actually my "installation" took me about 1/2 a day and is not "perfect" by any means.  The beauty of the tiles is that they're very "forgiving" and unless you view the job with a microscope anyone can do it.  Actually, I wanted someone to do the installation for me, but hey I'm a "capable chick."  LOL

My only advice is follow the directions and start from the outside corner for installation.  Also, with any job it's a good rule of thumb to "measure twice, cut once."  As for the window area, I decided it wasn't worth the work of taking down the blinds and measuring what I consider to be painstakingly small areas.  Therefore, I just painted over the original wallpaper with Glidden "Gripper" White Primer and Sealer.

I actually use the Glidden "Gripper" as the final paint coat in my bathroom to paint over the wallpaper as well.  I did prep the walls (the wallpaper) with a liquid TSP (tri-sodium phosphate) that you can buy from a plethora of places.  I basically used the TSP to wipe down the walls (wallpaper) and let it dry.

The results were more than satisfactory for me.  By the way, Ed and Margee I sincerely apologize for not responding to your private e-mail.  Actually, I did but the somehow I lost it before it posted.  It was pretty detailed and I was somewhat tired so I didn't do it over.  Again, my apologies.  Please post photos of the finished results!
