Did I mess up something removing my swamp cooler?

Hi,

I have a 1992 MB that I've owned for about 8 years.  I finally got around to removing the old swamp cooler and replacing it with a new fantastic fan.  All went well after wrestling the old bugger out.  I taped off uneaded wires and all works well.  However, this weekend camping, my hot water heater would not light.  Does anyone know if there some wiring associated with the water heater that goes through the wiring that is hooked up to the swamp cooler?

The fuse is fine.  In my oldie but goodie, the light comes on briefly and then goes off if the water heater lights correctly.  When it comes back on it indicates a fault.  I can hear the ignitor click, click, click and then the light comes back on.

All that Larry said, and if the ignitor is clicking but not igniting, the problem could also be a blocked burner tube or jet (orifice) that doesn't allow the gas to get to the ignitor. (Spiders love the smell of mercaptan, the odorant used for propane, and often make webs/nests in water heater and refrigerator burner tubes.) You might want to soak the orifice in a little alcohol and blow out the tube and orifice with compressed air; don't poke anything into the jet orifice..
