Body work? July 15, 2016, 01:40:04 pm Hi Folks,My wife & I are new to this forum & looking for sage advice.If a Lazy Daze should ever need body work - not to the truck/cab part, but to the body of the motor home itself - where would an owner have the body work and I would suppose, any needed painting, done?No, no body work needed yet; in fact, no LD .....yet

Re: Body work? Reply #2 – July 15, 2016, 03:23:00 pm The exterior panels on a LD motorhomes to include the roof are made of aluminum. Some of the lower parts of the LD are made of fiberglass. So most places that can repair fiberglass could be a resource for those sections of a LD. The aluminum panels are another matter. In addition to the LD Factory, there are only a few other places in the USA that might be able to make a repair. And I suspect those places might have to order some of the parts from the LD factory. An example is Xtreme Paint in Texas (Xtreme Paint & Graphics), who are very highly regarded by RV owners in this area of the world. Hope this helps.

Hope this helps.I had a bad 6" scrape and a 1" diameter hole, both in fiberglass, repaired and painted at a boat repair shop. They were used to working with fiberglass.Chris
Re: Body work? Reply #4 – July 17, 2016, 09:17:35 pm A capable auto body shop should be able to do fiberglass and aluminum repairs (think Corvettes). We found one that does quality work, and isn't afraid of taking on jobs "outside the box." When the time came to have the end-caps replaced on our 1997 mid-bath, we took it to them. They did a great job.
