LD installed in-dash Sony radio June 14, 2016, 02:38:20 pm The LD installed in-dash Sony radio on my '08 24' FL suddenly only powers on when I turn on the ignition. It no longer operates on the house batteries. Can anyone speculate as to what may have happened?
Re: LD installed in-dash Sony radio Reply #1 – June 15, 2016, 10:57:39 am By turning on the ignition, do you mean starting the engine? If so, then perhaps you have a problem with the house batteries - if they are not holding a charge, then the radio will not work unless a charge voltage is present, in this case from the alternator.Steve
Re: LD installed in-dash Sony radio Reply #2 – June 17, 2016, 05:52:57 pm The house batteries work fine. I just returned from a two week dry camping trip. The radio will only power on if I turn the ignition key to the ACC position (or start the engine). Any other ideas?

Re: LD installed in-dash Sony radio Reply #4 – June 30, 2016, 06:44:03 pm I finally have the answer as to how my in-dash radio switched from house battery to chassis battery power. I am almost embarrassed to say the circuit breaker behind the house battery compartment flipped. Why I still had 12v power to everything else (while boondocking for 2 weeks) remains a mystery for me.Mike Liner
Re: LD installed in-dash Sony radio Reply #5 – June 30, 2016, 11:51:59 pm Consider it a learning experience. Now, you need to find out why 12-volt power is still available inside the coach and to make sure it is properly fused. It would also be interesting to learn why the breaker was flipped. Are you the original owner?Larry
