television not coming on
My TV is not coming on.  We have a 2014 TK with a Jensen TV.  We went to turn it on to watch a DVD.  The blue light comes on when we flip the switches supplying the power but the TV does not come on to either the remote or pushing the power button on the unit.  We rechecked all of the connections and switches, but no go.  At the time we were hooked up to a power source in a campground.  I did not try to disconnect from that and try it with the generator running.

I remember a thread about this in the past but searching the archive was not happening.  Any ideas for me to try or if anyone can refer me to the proper old thread (and give me a hint on how to get there), I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks,
Syndi

Not a lot of options here, but before giving up, I would disconnect the power cord to the TV for at least 10 minutes, then reconnect and try again. Sometimes if it is a software glitch, this will reset the set. If this does not work, a new set will probably be a better choice than repair, unless the warranty is still active.

Do what Steve said.  If that does not fix it, before replacing it, here are a few things.  I apologize if you already looked at these.

First, might you have shifted the input, so that you are on a setting with no signal?  On mine, if there is no signal coming in to the selected input, I get a "No Signal" message but yours might be different.

Second, are you using a built in DVD player or an external one?  My 2008 Jensen does not have a DVD player.  If I connect an external source such as a DVR, a DVD player or some such and there is a problem with that external device, I can get a blank screen with the blue light on.  If you are using an external device, try switching the TV to a different, unused input.  Does a "No Signal" message come up?  If so, the problem is probably with the external device rather than the TV, though a problem with the TV circuitry that processes the signal for the setting you need could still be the issue.

Finally, when you first turn the TV on, do you see the Jensen start up graphic?  On mine, regardless of input settings, and the presence or absence of a signal, I get that graphic while the TV is starting up.  If you don't see that, and you used to see that, and the 10 minute reset does not help, I think it is time for a replacement.

There's an on-line fuse in the back.  Check that fuse.  Remove it and see if the wire fliminate is broken.  If all looks good, reinstall, but don't over tighten it.  This little step fixed ours a few weeks ago.

Also make sure the small push button under the coaxial cable is pushed in.

Hope this helps.
