Tar Removal - A Suggestion
During our recent travels, we managed to pick up a small amount of tar on the rear lower panels and a bit on the rear of the LD.  Before I attempted using anything caustic, I tried Meguiar's Cleaner Wax with a soft cotton towel.  Those nasty little bits of tar came off rather easily, which surprised me.  I think the tar soften a bit as the day's temperature increased to 95 degrees, which made it easier.  I followed up with Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus where I had used the Cleaner Wax and the ole' gal looks good as new.  I hate tar.  And I have a strong dislike for 3,500 miles worth of bugs as well.  A few more days of cleaning and we should have our LD looking good as new.

Btw, the psychological or emotional adjustments after a long trip has been "interesting."  Actually, it has left DW and DH in a strange and goofy mental condition.  We hadn't expected that to happen.

And so it goes.

Way back when...we used to travel for a month at a time. Going from one place to another. Yosemite, Big Sur, Mammoth...you name it.

About three weeks into the vacation we would (mostly me) start wondering what we could do to stay on the road and avoid the "work-a-day" world.

Unfortunately, I was never able to answer that question (this was 20 years ago). My solution? Shorter vacations and more of them spread throughout the year. It was amazing how well that worked.

Today, I continue that stratagy. Now it's in our 27' LD. Soon though, I will retire..then...who knows.

Enjoy the road...the trees...the adventure and the heck with the rest.
