Yeah, I saw this on the gizmag feed I get...but they didn't have the gorgeous photos.  I so appreciate the creative brains that come up with things like this.

Saw this personal 12-volt expresso machine in action at this month's LD Caravan.
Review: Lavazza EspressGo
It uses pods and has a small boiler and compressor inside.
It worked fine and had a decent crema.
Pricey but for a crazed Java head, that needs a fix, you can have it almost anywhere.

We used one of these for years, in our backcountry camping phase. A compact stove powered it.

If durability is important, this is the better device than the 12-volt maker.
