Overcab Weight Limit! April 27, 2016, 07:23:54 pm Yahoo Message Number: 160138Does anyone know what a safe weight limit for the overhead cab area (bed) for a 24 footer would be? I have a bunch of stuff to get from Southern Cally to St Louis and wanna use that space for hauling but don't want to overload it and have the overhead section cracking and falling off. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks...............mike

One of our astute members suggested that since the flooring in the cabover is 1/2" plywood, to keep the total weight at the 400 lbs mark. Hope this helps.Ed & Margee '09 MB

Re: Overcab Weight Limit! Reply #4 – April 29, 2016, 12:05:48 pm Yahoo Message Number: 160171Hey group, I received this email from in reply to my question concerning the overhead cab weight limit. I don't know why Bill didn't share it with the group so I am. "In my opinion, the concern should NOT be how much the overhead will hold without damaging the overhead. The concern should be how will your weight distribution affect the center of gravity and weight distribution of the vehicle. As the center of gravity gets higher, it can have negative effects upon the stability and handling of a vehicle. Less stability = less safe for you and, more importantly, me and anyone else on the road with you. My advice would be to carefully read your LD manual pertaining to load/weight distribution.FWIW, Bil"l
