Another 6-month Odyssey Comes to an End

We arrived back home in New England a couple of days ago after 6 months and 4400 miles. This year we spent most of the winter along the Gulf Coast from Pensacola over into Louisiana. Tried out a lot of new-to-us campgrounds, for which I've written pictorial reviews on my Toad Hall site.

We've been traveling in an LD since 2002 and this is the first winter trek in which we did not encounter a single LD - nada, zip!

Now I've got to get busy and get the rig back into tip-top shape. This was the year for a few failures. Our Kwikee levelers decided to quit, but I was able to get them into working mode again. I had mentioned our water heater problem last fall - still need to address that as well as replace the spring assembly valve in the toilet. Two of our shades failed over the winter - broken strings. The first one was in the back window and we repaired that one the next day. About a month ago the shade on the front driver's side failed, but since it would still go up and down (sorta) we decided to leave it until we got home. It's now lying on our dining room floor awaiting repair. And then of course, the LD needs a major exterior cleaning - a good thorough wash from roof to wheels followed by some Finish First polish.

For trivia fans we have now spent 2723 nights in a Lazy Daze since picking up our first one in May 2002.

Cheerio,

A number of years go, when I was first considering an RV lifestyle, I was introduced to Lazy Daze by two rigs. The first was Andys Gertie. The second was meeting Ted and Liz, who gave me a tour of their pristine, comfy LD in northern NJ as they were passing through the area. I was sold on a LD for my future. So, once again, thanks, guys, and welcome home.

Art and I have traveled 23,000 miles since we left home and family in 2014. Been up and down the east coast several times. Wintered once in South Carolina, once in Texas. We made it to the Pacific and drove up Route1 along the coast. Went to 9 national parks. Drove through wind storms and dust storm and yellowouts in sandstorms. We really have seen very few rainy days.  Finally we are heading to our new home in NJ.
God bless our 20 yr old LD. God bless the support we have received from our NE group! We are heading down I 25 from Albuquerque discussing what we learned at the Pueblo Indian museum yesterday. I Hate going over mountains. I am almost out of panic pills. We will brave the rain and take the snowbird route home following I-10 to I-95.
We will miss you guys in June, but the sudden tragic death of our NJ tenant a week ago means we have a lot of work to do to get settled in our new home.
Pete our very best wishes for a successful procedure and speedy recovery.
We'll see you all in the fall! Art and Sandy, Toby too
