Driving cheats, MB fuel stop

I thought I would share a tip that has helped me a bunch when pulling into a gas station to refuel. This may seem obvious to some, but I did not realize how much easier the simple idea made life until someone point it out to me.

Just before I pull next to the fuel island where the pumps are located I readjust the drivers side mirror so I can see the gray tank dump valve (it sticks out further than the black tank because of the factory hose outlet). Then I pull forward until I can see the hose to the fuel pump and the gray tank valve near each other in the side mirror. On the mid bath the fuel tank opening is above and close enough to the gray tank dump valve that the valve makes a nice pointer. I am sure the other models have something similar that could act as a pointer. Having a pointer for common tasks like filling and dumping makes orienting the RV in a spot much easier and helps to keep trips fun.

After fueling (or dumping the tanks) it only takes a second to readjust the mirror. Of course this works much better with electric mirrors as compared to the older style. Of course I could just look at the place where the fuel tank is but it is harder to see (due to recessed mount) that and the fuel pump when they line up.
